Micro Scooters Not Just For Kids

By: Alex Stacey

Micro scooters are become the new skateboards of tomorrow. They are just as durable and can offer the same advantages to do tricks on that skateboards do. The rise in popularity is based on the design of a micro scooter. They have a hollow handle that allows the rider to hold on to the scooter while performing their tricks. Many times you'll see a trick being performed that you just couldn't attempt on a skateboard.

Since the rise of skate parks across London people are turning up with micro scooters in hand to try their skill at performing new and amazing tricks. Even though micro scooters are marketed to the younger generation you'll still see adults riding them. It's the youth that conquer the excitement that infects all of us.

With any sport its best to be safe. I'm sure you can pull up tons of gnarly videos on the internet showing a skaters mishap, while fun to watch, or not, its safety that keeps you on your micro scooter while you enjoy the leisure riding enjoyment. A helmet has become standard wear, if you see somebody on a micro scooter without one they almost look out of place. Helmets are the difference between you and the pavement, don't take a chance, and protect your melon.

Safety pads are a must so you can minimize injuries, you will fall off your micro scooter, keep your elbows and knees protected, you don't want to retire at 19 years old. Wrist pads have become standard wear too, when you fall your body wants to protect the impact and your hands and arms naturally will try to minimize that impact. Don't forget to make sure that everything fits snugly, it could mean the difference.

Some accessories besides wheels are handle grips and breaking mechanisms, wheels can be a custom accessory to make your scooter stand out. Another addition to the micro scooter line is the kickboard, it has two wheels in front and one in the back, it allows you to surf anywhere you go; it's professionally designed for serious riders. Many people who ride micro scooters do so with a competitive spirit, there are competitions being organized to challenge riders to perform stunts for cash or prizes. You can even shoot videos of you and your friends performing tricks and send them to your local retailers. They would love to see their product being used for enjoyment as much as you love riding it.

Some of the tricks that can be performed on a micro scooter are a 180, or a 360 or even a 720. A back flip is the newest trick to be seen on a micro scooter and I'm sure a front flip is not far behind. It's really up to the rider to be creative and push their scooter to its maximum limit. Remember before performing any tricks its best to practice and practice some more, many skaters make it look very easy to perform tricks. Take your time and enjoy the sport.

Skate and Scoot supplies a great range of micro scooters for all ages of children with many different scooter designs.
