Have you ever been to a show of old airplanes? I haven't seen one, but I have seen movies and pictures of them. They were pretty big and high off the ground. There were all different kinds of them, and most of them have been taken out of service.

Now one of these old planes has come back to our air space. It is called the Zeppelin, and these crafts haven't been in use for 70 years. It was bought from a company in Germany where it was also built and then transported by container to Moffett Field in California. There are only three in the whole world with one in Germany and Japan and now in the United States. The company here has ordered two more in the hopes that this type of travel will catch on.

The last one to be used was the LZ-129 Hindenburg. It was fueled by flammable hydrogen, which caused the LZ-129 Zeppelin to catch on fire in front of thousands of people. The blast killed 35 of the 97 people on board. This new one runs on non-flammable helium. When the older Zeppelin had come into the picture, it was used for commercial passenger transport and military operations until the start of World War 2.

These new Zeppelins are 15 feet longer than the Boeing 747 and it stands at 246 feet. These will be floating over the San Francisco Bay out of Moffett field. These rides will cost $ 495 per person. The rides will last one hour and they will hope that this will become a big thing. They hope that these will be used for birthdays, weddings, and even graduation parties. If this first one does good, then the other two that this company has ordered will probably be used to go over the east coast with the same one-hour flights.

These old war planes that are still around will be put in some air shows, and these will travel over the world at different times with different air shows. The owners of these old planes take great care to keep their plane in good working order and will keep them in hangars until they are in another show. These old planes put fire in these owners' hearts because they still fly them themselves, and they love the freedom of having the wind in their hair. At these shows, they will give people rides for a price to cover their costs of their fuel and their trip.
