Play School Helps Children To Learn

By: Jim Brown

Playschools help build our children's self esteem. It allows the children to have a period of transition before entering big school. It exposes them to an environment besides the home. They can make friends with other children as well as adults. Socializing with peers in their age group and interacting with teachers help them develop their interest in learning.

More and more of this time, mothers are really sending their children to the best schools for them to explore and learn. The school fees these mothers have to pay certainly poses no major concern as long as their children are enjoying and at the same time they learning more.

As a mother myself, it is fun to watch my 3-year old daughter wake up each morning with a bright expression on her face as she prepares herself to school. After each day from playschool, she would come home singing new songs she learned that day. She even loves to share her fun experiences she had with her schoolmates. There was one weekend morning where she surprised me - she asked me to study with her. I am so proud to see how much my daughter loves to learn new things and a fast learner at that.

Children who are exposed to limited people, that is their parents and a few familiar faces, may not help in the development of their social skills. Limited social skills may make them have a hard time adjusting to different people and situations. Giving them a chance to be with other kids their age teaches them how to interact and thus contributing to their development of social skills.

However, you also have to consider how ready your child is for playschool. Playschool will only benefit a child who is ready for it. Each child is unique and their ability to cope varies. It also helps if both the home and the school work hand in hand in the child's development. It would be best if what the child learns at home would be reinforced by what he or she learns in school and vice versa. A perfect example would be my two kids. My elder son was not ready to go to school at the time I sent him to play school. He would always cry and fix his eyes on his classroom window looking for me. I did not want to leave him like that so I had to stay with him until he was comfortable with the new people around me. My younger daughter was the exact opposite. She was so eager and so excited and could not wait to start another day in school. She easily adapted to the new environment she was in and made new friends on her own.

Playschools really play an important role in the development of your child's skills. It helps your kids reach their full potential. It gives them a chance to interact with different people and learn new things while having fun
