Saving Money on Your Printer Ink

By: Wendy Moyer

In the current hard times, it is important to save money whenever and wherever we can. Almost all of us use inkjet printers at one point or another, whether we own a printer at home for printing out information or emails, or whether we use a printer at work to print out standards of procedure and financial reports.

If you are an inkjet printer user, then you know that most inkjet printers are inexpensive due to the ever-growing advancements in technology. However, the ink itself is another story altogether. The cost of the ink is the most expensive out of all the supplies you need in order to print.

However, it is still possible to save money when purchasing and using inkjet printer ink, so don't be discouraged.

If you are a high volume printer user, then you would most likely benefit from using an ink refill kit. These kits store ink in bags or bottles that are then hooked up to the ink cartridges. This is a cost effective option that can help you to save money and time. Instead of constantly ordering and reordering ink cartridges, you won't have to replace your bulk ink bag or bottle as frequently as you would with cartridges.

Ordering your ink cartridges or refill ink kit online can also be a big buck saver. Many online companies offer great discounts to their companies, and some even offer free shipping. Purchasing your ink online also gives you the opportunity to do more research about the company you plan to purchase from to make sure that you are getting the best deal you possibly can.

One of the best ways to save money on your printing costs is to only print exactly what you need to print. Don't waste ink, and don't waste printer paper! If you don't really need to print out that forwarded email or joke, don't! That way, you can save that ink and paper and instead use it to print something that you truly do need.

If you do find yourself printing quite a bit and throwing away the papers when you're done with them, keep in mind that recycling is a much better option than simply throwing your unwanted documents away.

Since the economy is going through a difficult time, it's important to pinch pennies and save however you can. Try following the above tips to save some money.
