We Have All Had Those Dates That We Didn't Think That We Could Live Through

By: rodrigo rehn

It seems that we have all heard horror stories from our friends about these dates, too. Doesn't it seem like we should just be able to steer clear of these awful dates? The fact of the matter is that you can avoid these bad dates by being more selective about who we go out with. We often try to think outside the box with whom we date and we end up dating people who have nothing in common with us or do not share our outlook on life. There are certain types of people that you just want to avoid at all costs if you are going to have a good time.

Say No to Co-workers
Dating people that you work with is never a good idea. You may be attracted to them, but usually this will not be a good time. You'll end up talking about work the majority of the time and you will also end up in a messy situation if it does go anywhere. Just say no to dating co-workers, no matter how interesting it may seem at the time!

Say No to Someone Who Doesn't Jive Socially
It's often those people who seem a bit "off" that we think about dating for something different. The social outcast is usually those people who are worthy of a bad date tale. If someone is a misfit it is usually because they don't have any social skills and this can make for an awkward date, to say the least. This doesn't mean that you can't be friends with such a person, but you should get to know them a bit better before you decide that they are date worthy.

Say No to Married People
A lot of married people are looking for a bit of fun and excitement, sound good? No! A date with a married person just isn't a good idea, even if they tell you that they aren't happy or they want to separate from their spouse. You will end up with a lot of baggage on your plate as well as having to sneak around. Listening to a person's woes is something that you could charge for, not something that you want for a first date. There is a list that is unbelievably wrong of reasons that you should never date a married person.

If you abide by these simple rules you will generally find that you can limit your bad dates. There are always going to be those that surprise you, but a lot of the times we set ourselves up for these experiences. Just be more selective about who you are dating, this will prove to eliminate a lot of those uncomfortable dates.
